Drama therapy
Drama therapy is an active, experiential approach to facilitating change. Through storytelling and purposeful improvisation, participants are invited to rehearse desired behaviors, practice being in relationship, expand and find flexibility between life roles, and perform the change they wish to be and see in the world.
Creative arts therapy (or expressive therapy) is a broader term that includes a variety of modalities, including drama therapy, art therapy, music therapy, dance/movement therapy and poetry therapy. These disciplines have been applied in psychotherapy and counseling with individuals of all ages for more than 70 years. They have roots in theories of healing that draw on creativity and self-expression.
